Rabbi G has served as rabbi, chazzan and principal bal koreh (Torah reader) for congregations both in the US and Australia. In 2000, he was presented the Close-Caputo Educator of Humanity Award and in 2003, published, Notes from the Rabbi's Desk. In 2013 Rabbi Robuck was awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in recognition of his "fervent commitment to Jewish education".
Rabbi G is passionate about k'lal Yisrael (the entirety of the Jewish people) and is equally comfortable when working in Orthodox, Conservative, Progressive or creative, cultural circles of every kind. From 2005-2016 he served as Rosh of the Meah school at NSTE where he introduced an original curriculum for students K-7 and pioneered, Rabbi Gary’s Totally Excellent Torah and Travel (holiday) Camps.
Currently, Gary is a consulting rabbi for the Progressive Congregation of the ACT and Beit Or v'Shalom, instructor with his private tutoring company, First Step Tutoring. Gary is married to Jocelyn, has three children and 2 adorable grandchildren. Despite more than 30 years of teaching experience, Rabbi G still treats each class, student and every family with singular respect and joy.
